All Shook Up Paper Pumpkin

December's Paper Pumpkin is such a great kit! It includes supplies to make 9 cute shaker cards with envelopes. (I couldn't resist adding a little more embellishment.)

I added the Black and White Baker's twine (134576).
I added the Silver mini brads (122941).

I added the Hardware clip (129964) and Bermuda Bay ribbon (131206).

After removing the die-cut sentiments, cut the sticker sheets at 2-1/2 in. to make more cards.

Simply Snowflakes Paper Pumpkin

The November Paper Pumpkin kit makes 8 fabulous Christmas Cards and 12 Gift Tags. I love the projects just as they are, but decided to stretch the number of cards you can make. If you don't need cards then check out the Decorative Banner I made from the supplies.

Make twice as many cards!

Cut the die-cut flaps from the cards in the kit. Stamp and mount each flap on a Lost Lagoon card base.

The sentiment is from one of the gift tags!
Use the next 2 designs to make 4 times the number of cards in the kit!

I added Frosted Sequins embellishments. (135835)
This card uses just the white die-cut snow flake on a Soft Sky card base with a Lost Lagoon mat.

I added the Silver ribbon. (132137)
If you use the flaps from the cards in the kit, you will have 8 plain mats left over.

Emboss them with the Northern Flurry folder (120902) in your Big Shot (113439) and sand the blue layer to reveal the white core.

Eight more cards!

I added extra rhinestones. (119246)
If you don't need lots of cards, make a banner from Lost Lagoon pennants with the die-cut card flaps.

For the white snowflakes flip the Lost Lagoon die-cut snowflakes over.

I used my 2 in. Circle punch (133782) and discontinued Alphabet dies for the letters.

Sweet As Pie Paper Pumpkin

The October Paper Pumpkin kit contained 8 triangle gift boxes meant to hold slices of Pumpkin Pie, but it arrived too late to use for the Canadian Thanksgiving.

I used 5 boxes to make a lovely 3-D Star. I traded one of my boxes with a friend to have 5 of the same design. Hang it like a wreath or stand it on a shelf.

-cut 5 1-1/2 X 4 in. strips from the chipboard packing material
-score each strip in the middle and fold

-assemble 5 of the pie boxes
-use strong adhesive like Sticky Strip (104294), Fast Fuse (129026) or Tombow glue (110755) to adhere the corners of the boxes together by the folded strips
-apply sticky strip to the edges
-cut a 7 in. circle of Kraft card stock (133674)
-carefully position the arcs of the circle evenly on the adhesive on the boxes
-cut 3 Paper Doilies (129399) in half and fold under a 3/8 in. section
-adhere the half doilies over the edge of the boxes
-cut 1-1/2 in. wide strips of Kraft card stock
-adhere the strips inside the pentagon formed by the boxes
-wrap Gold twine (132975) around the star
-use a glue gun to adhere buttons around the opening

Eleanor's Butterfly

The swirly image from Everything Eleanor makes wonderful backgrounds. I CASEd a lovely card by Aimee Cretsinger.

Ink the image with Pink Pirouette ink and sponged Perfect Plum ink on the middle and Island Indigo on the end and stamp on Whisper White card stock.

The butterfly image from Papillon Potpourri was heat embossed, then sponged with colour before I cut it out with a punch.

-ink the image with a VersaMark pad then lightly ink it with an Island Indigo pad
-stamp on Whisper White card stock
-cover with Iridescent Ice embossing powder and shake off the excess
-melt the powder with a heat tool and let cool
-use sponge daubers to layer Pink Pirouette ink and Perfect Plum ink on the image
-cut out the image with the Elegant Butterfly punch

Lovely As A Puffy Tree

The evergreen tree from the Lovely As A Tree stamp set is so verstatile. I've used it many ways, many times, but this puffy technique is new to me. My wonderful upline, Lisa Althouse, demonstrated it to me at our last meeting.

Here's a close-up of the puffy effect.
-stamp the image on card stock
-place the card stock on your Stampin' Pierce mat
-use the small end of your Simply Scored Stylus to trace around the image
-turn the card stock over on the Stampin' Pierce mat
-use the large end of the stylus stretch the card stock and make the image stand out
-cover the back of the card stock with Snail adhesive
-fill in the outline of the tree with small amounts of a cotton ball
-adhere the stamped mat to another card stock mat
-place on a hard surface and trace over the outline of the tree with the stylus to adhere the edges around the cotton

Bootiful Bags Paper Pumpkin

There are supplies in the September Paper Pumpkin kit to make six adorable burlap treat bags. I decided to use some of my bags to make a stack of quick cards with burlap accents.

Turn a burlap bag inside-out and trim away the serged seams. Then, press the burlap flat and cut into two pieces: one printed and the other plain.

Use double sided adhesive sheets to adhere the burlap pieces to Very Vanilla card stock. I ran the burlap mounted card stock sheets through the Big Shot to press them together firmly.

Cut burlap shapes with your Big Shot and dies and use them on your cards

Just Sayin' Hey There

Just Sayin' has 8 sentiment stamps inside a variety of word bubbles. And, Stampin' Up! has a set of framelit dies to match making it easy to make quick, cute cards.

I mounted burlap ribbon to card stock before cutting out the word bubble embellishment with my Big Shot.

-adhere a length of burlap ribbon to card stock
-pull up the base thread of the serged edge
-pull out the thread and remove the rest of the serging threads

Holiday Catalogue Swap

The Holiday Catty is live today! Click on the link in the left column to view it online.

I used Mossy Meadow ink for the evergreen sprig from Ornamental Pine (135104) and Real Red ink for the sentiment on Very Vanilla card stock.

The ornament was stamped with VersaMark on Real Red card stock and heat embossed with Gold embossing powder. Then, I cut it out, mounted it with Dimensionals and added a Gold Baker's twine bow.

Endless Wishes (136829) has several sentiments to combine. Mine is stamped with Pear Pizzazz ink.

The snowflakes are stamped with Pool Party, Pear Pizzazz and Lost Lagoon inks on Whisper White card stock.

I used Lost Lagoon 3/8 in. Silky Taffeta Ribbon (135841) and the embellishments are from Frosted Sequins (135835).

Seriously Amazing Paper Pumpkin Kit

I've been stamping up a storm since my August Paper Pumpkin kit arrived and now I'm ready to post some photos! Most of the cards are easy to figure out so I'm only posting tutorials for some of the projects.

All of my Paper Pumpkin subscribers are invited to the Playdate on Monday, Aug. 25, 2014. Just bring your kits and adhesive and I'll supply the rest!

Cards

Opening my Paper Pumpkin kit every month is so exciting! This time I was impressed with the huge amount of product, and a little thrown by the colour combination. (Mossy Meadow wouldn't be my first choice to use with Strawberry Slush and Hello Honey.)

By cutting two of the printed striped card bases in half and trimming them by 1/2 an inch I used them for mats on Strawberry Slush card bases (131295) and increased the number of cards I could make. (I saved the other card bases to make some gifts boxes.)

I inked the dot image with Hello Honey and stamped three times before re-inking to get different intensities of colour for the background.

Those fabulous Strawberry Slush sequins are easy to apply with the glue dots included in the kit.

Using Mossy Meadow ink (133645) for the sentiments on the pre-cut printed banners helps bring the colours together.

For variety, I switched the colours. Strawberry Slush ink (131178) for the dots and the Hello Honey for the card base. (133678)
The gold sequins are from the trim in the Catty. (132983)

I love the portfolio closure envelopes from the kit!

Alternate Colour Combinations
I stamped dots on the pre-cut mat with Pink Pirouette (126956), Hello Honey (included) and Strawberry Slush (13178) inks.

The card base is Hello Honey (133678) with Pink Pirouette (111351) and Strawberry Slush (131295) mats.

Use Pink Pirouette (126956) and Pool Party (126982) inks to stamp the dots on the pre-cut mat and adhere Basic Black card stock 121045) behind the cut-out. Wrap Basic Black Baker's Twine (134576) around the mat and tie a bow. Adhere the mat to a Pink Pirouette (126956) card base.

Punch the hearts (133787) from Coastal Cabana (131297), Strawberry Slush (131295) and Real Red (102482) card stock and use Dimensionals (included) to mount the hearts. Add a rhinestone (119246) to the last heart.

I embossed the pre-cut mat with my Big Shot (113439) and the Stylish Stripes embossing folder (132174) before mounting it on a Basic Black (121045) card stock mat. Adhere the mats to a Bermuda Bay (131197) card base.

Punch stars (1133787) from Silver Glimmer Paper (135314). Adhere the stars with Dimensionals (included) and the sequins (included) with glue dots (included).

Adhere one of the small portfolio closure envelopes inside to hold a gift card.

By cutting the gift card bases in half and using them as mats under the pre-cut gift card mats I increased the number of projects I could make.

Emboss the Hello Honey (133678) card base with the Big Shot (113439) and the Lucky Stars embossing folder (135817).

Tie Linen Thread (included) around the pre-cut star mat and adhere it to the printed mat with Dimensionals (included), then mount it on the card base.

I stamped a sentiment from the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set (132022) with Mossy Meadow ink (133645) on the banner sheet from the kit and cut it out. Adhere the banner and rhinestones (119246) to the mat.

Adhere one of the small portfolio envelopes inside to hold a gift card.

Another version of  the Star Mat Card using Blackberry Bliss card stock (133675) and White Baker's Twine (124262)

Cut a banner from half of a gift card base and adhere it to a Strawberry Slush card stock (131295) banner on a Blackberry Bliss (133675) card base. Adhere a length of Crushed Curry Chevron ribbon (130019).

Mount the pre-cut heart gift card mat and stamped banner with Dimensionals (included). Embellish with sequins.

I embossed the Pool Party (122924) card base with my Big Shot (113439) and Decorative Dots (133520) embossing folder.

Adhere a Strawberry Slush (131295) banner to the card base.

Stamp the sentiment on a pre-cut banner with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (132708).

Stamp dots on the pre-cut heart mat with Pool Party (126982), Pink Pirouette (126956), Bermuda Bay (131171), Strawberry Slush (131178), Basic Gray (126981) and Hello Honey (included) ink.

Adhere a square of Window Sheet (114323) to the back of heart mat and apply strips of Dimensionals (included) around the heart shape and in the corners.

Place the heart mat face down on the Basic Black mat.

Use the 1/8 in. circle punch to cut 15 circles each from Strawberry Slush (131295), Hello Honey (133678), Basic Gray (121044) and Coastal Cabana (131297) card stock. Fill the heart shape with the punches.

Adhere the Pink Pirouette mat on the heart mat, using the Basic Black mat as a guide. Then, flip the shaker mat over and adhere it to the Black mat before mounting it to the card front.

Gift Cards and Boxes

I used some of the printed striped card bases to make cute gift boxes.

Square Bag Box
Cut a 1/2 in. section from the short side of a large card base.

Score the vertical lines at 1-3/4 in., 3-3/4 in. (original score line on card base), 5-5/8 in. and 7-1/2.

Score 1-1/4 in. from bottom and 3/4 in. from top (across vertical score lines) and cut away bottom of tab section. Cut on score lines from bottom edge to bottom score line.

Cut away 3/4 in. on top score line leaving a top flap.

Fold on score lines and adhere tab section inside box. Adhere bottom sections together.

Squeeze box to fold sides and to middle.

Secure pre-cut circles (included) to box front and flap.

Pillow Boxes

Cut off 1/2 in. from short side of printed striped card base.

Score 1/2 in. from opposite side and crease.

Adhere tab section inside box.

Measure 1/2 in. from sides of box on both ends.

Using a 7-1/2 in. circle pattern, trace the arc from markings on sides.

Place the box on a Stampin' Pierce Mat (126199). Using the same circle pattern, score the arc from the markings on sides.

Your box will look like this on both ends.
Trim the traced arcs.

Use a 3/4 in. circle punch (119873) to cut a half circle from one flap on both sides of the box. Fold the punched flaps on the score lines, then the outer flaps to the close box.

Small Pillow Box
Cut 3/8 in. from short side of Gift Card base and score 3/8 in. from opposite side.
