Gilded Too Kind

While wondering which Embossing Powder technique to use with this stamp set, I was inspired by a card made by Nikki Spencer. This is my version.

Directions:
Instead of stamping my envelope, I used Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum (133363) and my Big Shot (113439) to cut a liner with the Framelits Envelope Liners (132172).

Stamp the spatter image from Gorgeous Grunge (130514) with Pink Pirouette ink (126956) on a Whisper White card stock (100730) mat.

On the stems image from Too Kind (130447) ink the straight stem with Staz On Jet Black ink (101406) and stamp on the mat. Stamp the background floral image with Staz On, too.
Note: Thanks to Jill Van Nistelrooy for the genius technique for masking off an image.
Cover the unwanted image with tape, ink the stamp, and remove the tape.

Swipe the mat with an Embossing Buddy (103083) and stamp the second floral image and a sentiment with a VersaMark pad (102283). I used the Hostess set Express Yourself (130336).

Cover the images with Gold EP (109129), shake off the excess, and melt the powder with a Heat Tool. (129053).

Adhere 3 sequins from the Gold Sequin trim (132983) with Tombow glue (110755)

Mount the stamped mat on a Pink Pirouette card (111351) and Basic Black (121045) and Gold Foil (132622) mats.

Faux Watercolour

Create a lovely faux watercolour effect by spritzing water on the card stock and the inked stamp to blur the image when stamped.

Let it dry, smooth the card stock and stamp another image over it.

Use a heat tool to speed up the drying time if you like.
-spritz water lightly onto the card stock mat
-ink a stamp and spritz with water
-stamp 3 or 4 times on the wet card stock without re-inking
Note:
-gently dab with a tissue if there is too much water
-spritz lightly with more water if the card stock is too dry
-let the images blur and dry
-smooth the card stock with your hands or gently press with an warm iron between sheets of plain paper to flatten
-stamp the 2-step flowers and stem over the blurred images

Too Kind Two Step

Too Kind is a versatile stamp set for creating layered flowers. I layered the simple floral top mat over a background mat made with the larger floral stamped in a unique way learned from my Stampin' Sistah Suzanne Nelson.

-stamp the large floral first step image

-turn the mat and stamp the image again, overlapping to form a full flower

-stamp the large floral second step image over the first images overlapping them too

Sale-A-Bration!

Sale-A-Bration is the sale of the year for Stampin' Up! fans. Every $60 you spend gets you a free item. Click on the link in the left margin to see the brochure.

I used the "You're Lovely" stamp set to make the tag on this sweet little gift of Vanilla Bath Salts. (Recipe)  The images were stamped with Soft Sky ink (131181) and Baked Brown Sugar ink (131174) on Very Vanilla card stock (101650). I used the Large Oval punch (119855) and the Scallop Oval punch (119856) to cut out the shapes. There's a tiny adhesive pearl (119247) on the tag, too.

I wrapped the bag with Soft Sky seam binding (131210) and Gold Baker's twine (132975).

-pour 1/4 cup of bath salts into a 4 in. X 6 in. cellophane bag (102757)
-fold the top over several times and staple to seal
-cut card stock 4-5/8 in. X 3-7/8 in.
-cut a circle in the centre with the Big Shot (133439) and Circle Collection framelits (130911)
-with removeable adhesive adhere a Deco Labels Collection framelits (130102) over the circle cut-out
-slide the card stock and framelit into a Tag a Bag Gift Bag (131370) and run it through the Big Shot
-slide the card stock out of the bag, remove the framelit and rub off the adhesive
-slide the card stock frame back into the bag and add the bath salts

Another Occasions Swap

I made this card with another new stamp set from the Occasions Catty for a swap. It's hard to see, but the vases are made from Silver Foil card stock.

First, I stamped the images on Whisper White card stock and again on Silver Foil card stock with a VersaMark pad. Next, I heat embossed them with Black embossing powder and cut out the Silver Foil vases. (Embossed shapes are so much easier to cut out!) Colour the embossed flowers on Whisper White card stock and adhere the Silver Foil vases over the embossed vases. I also heat embossed the sentiment on Melon Mambo card stock.

Occasions Catalogue!

You'll find lots of new tools and stamps in the Occasions Catty. Click on the link in the left column to check it out.

This is one of the cards I made for our last swap.

I used the new Word Bubbles framelits (132968) and Language of Love stamp set (133074) for the simple sweet card.
