I've been stamping up a storm since my August Paper Pumpkin kit arrived and now I'm ready to post some photos! Most of the cards are easy to figure out so I'm only posting tutorials for some of the projects.
All of my Paper Pumpkin subscribers are invited to the Playdate on Monday, Aug. 25, 2014. Just bring your kits and adhesive and I'll supply the rest!
Opening my Paper Pumpkin kit every month is so exciting! This time I was impressed with the huge amount of product, and a little thrown by the colour combination. (Mossy Meadow wouldn't be my first choice to use with Strawberry Slush and Hello Honey.)
By cutting two of the printed striped card bases in half and trimming them by 1/2 an inch I used them for mats on Strawberry Slush card bases (131295) and increased the number of cards I could make. (I saved the other card bases to make some gifts boxes.)
I inked the dot image with Hello Honey and stamped three times before re-inking to get different intensities of colour for the background.
Those fabulous Strawberry Slush sequins are easy to apply with the glue dots included in the kit.
Using Mossy Meadow ink (133645) for the sentiments on the pre-cut printed banners helps bring the colours together.
For variety, I switched the colours. Strawberry Slush ink (131178) for the dots and the Hello Honey for the card base. (133678)
The gold sequins are from the trim in the Catty. (132983)
I love the portfolio closure envelopes from the kit!
Alternate Colour Combinations
I stamped dots on the pre-cut mat with Pink Pirouette (126956), Hello Honey (included) and Strawberry Slush (13178) inks.
The card base is Hello Honey (133678) with Pink Pirouette (111351) and Strawberry Slush (131295) mats.
Use Pink Pirouette (126956) and Pool Party (126982) inks to stamp the dots on the pre-cut mat and adhere Basic Black card stock 121045) behind the cut-out. Wrap Basic Black Baker's Twine (134576) around the mat and tie a bow. Adhere the mat to a Pink Pirouette (126956) card base.
Punch the hearts (133787) from Coastal Cabana (131297), Strawberry Slush (131295) and Real Red (102482) card stock and use Dimensionals (included) to mount the hearts. Add a rhinestone (119246) to the last heart.
I embossed the pre-cut mat with my Big Shot (113439) and the Stylish Stripes embossing folder (132174) before mounting it on a Basic Black (121045) card stock mat. Adhere the mats to a Bermuda Bay (131197) card base.
Punch stars (1133787) from Silver Glimmer Paper (135314). Adhere the stars with Dimensionals (included) and the sequins (included) with glue dots (included).
Adhere one of the small portfolio closure envelopes inside to hold a gift card.
By cutting the gift card bases in half and using them as mats under the pre-cut gift card mats I increased the number of projects I could make.
Emboss the Hello Honey (133678) card base with the Big Shot (113439) and the Lucky Stars embossing folder (135817).
Tie Linen Thread (included) around the pre-cut star mat and adhere it to the printed mat with Dimensionals (included), then mount it on the card base.
I stamped a sentiment from the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set (132022) with Mossy Meadow ink (133645) on the banner sheet from the kit and cut it out. Adhere the banner and rhinestones (119246) to the mat.
Adhere one of the small portfolio envelopes inside to hold a gift card.
Another version of the Star Mat Card using Blackberry Bliss card stock (133675) and White Baker's Twine (124262)
Cut a banner from half of a gift card base and adhere it to a Strawberry Slush card stock (131295) banner on a Blackberry Bliss (133675) card base. Adhere a length of Crushed Curry Chevron ribbon (130019).
Mount the pre-cut heart gift card mat and stamped banner with Dimensionals (included). Embellish with sequins.
I embossed the Pool Party (122924) card base with my Big Shot (113439) and Decorative Dots (133520) embossing folder.
Adhere a Strawberry Slush (131295) banner to the card base.
Stamp the sentiment on a pre-cut banner with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (132708).
Stamp dots on the pre-cut heart mat with Pool Party (126982), Pink Pirouette (126956), Bermuda Bay (131171), Strawberry Slush (131178), Basic Gray (126981) and Hello Honey (included) ink.
Adhere a square of Window Sheet (114323) to the back of heart mat and apply strips of Dimensionals (included) around the heart shape and in the corners.
Place the heart mat face down on the Basic Black mat.
Use the 1/8 in. circle punch to cut 15 circles each from Strawberry Slush (131295), Hello Honey (133678), Basic Gray (121044) and Coastal Cabana (131297) card stock. Fill the heart shape with the punches.
Adhere the Pink Pirouette mat on the heart mat, using the Basic Black mat as a guide. Then, flip the shaker mat over and adhere it to the Black mat before mounting it to the card front.
Gift Cards and Boxes
I used some of the printed striped card bases to make cute gift boxes.
Square Bag Box
Cut a 1/2 in. section from the short side of a large card base.
Score the vertical lines at 1-3/4 in., 3-3/4 in. (original score line on card base), 5-5/8 in. and 7-1/2.
Score 1-1/4 in. from bottom and 3/4 in. from top (across vertical score lines) and cut away bottom of tab section. Cut on score lines from bottom edge to bottom score line.
Cut away 3/4 in. on top score line leaving a top flap.
Fold on score lines and adhere tab section inside box. Adhere bottom sections together.
Squeeze box to fold sides and to middle.
Secure pre-cut circles (included) to box front and flap.
Pillow Boxes
Cut off 1/2 in. from short side of printed striped card base.
Score 1/2 in. from opposite side and crease.
Adhere tab section inside box.
Measure 1/2 in. from sides of box on both ends.
Using a 7-1/2 in. circle pattern, trace the arc from markings on sides.
Place the box on a Stampin' Pierce Mat (126199). Using the same circle pattern, score the arc from the markings on sides.
Your box will look like this on both ends.
Trim the traced arcs.
Use a 3/4 in. circle punch (119873) to cut a half circle from one flap on both sides of the box. Fold the punched flaps on the score lines, then the outer flaps to the close box.
Small Pillow Box
Cut 3/8 in. from short side of Gift Card base and score 3/8 in. from opposite side.
Adhere tab to inside of box.
Mark 3/8 in. on side of box on both ends
Follow instructions above using a 3-1/4 in. circle pattern to mark and score the arcs and a 1/2 in. circle punch (119869) on the inside flaps.
