Layered Thoughts

Best Thoughts is my favourite Hostess Set in the new catalogue!

Hostess Sets are special discounted items that can only be purchased on a $200 order. So, host a party or stock up on supplies and get this lovely stamp set.

I used an Aqua-Painter on the stamped image to give it a pale watercolour effect.

By cutting sections from multiple images and layering them with dimensionals (foam adhesive dots) I created a 3D Paper Tole flower.

Use your Big Shot and Ovals framelits to cut a window in the mat. Then score 1/4 in. from the edges with your Simply Scored Tool. Adhere the mat to the card front with dimensionals.

-stamp the image 3 times on Whisper White card stock with Old Olive ink
-brush water on the inked lines with an Aqua-painter to soften and colour the image
-cut out the top layer as shown
-cut the middle layer as shown
-cut the bottom layer as shown
-stamp the stem and leaves of the image 2 times on Pear Pizzazz card stock with Old Olive ink
-cut all the leaves and the stem with an extension for adhesive from an image
-cut single foreground leaves from with an extension for adhesive from the other image
-adhere single leaves to the back of middle layer
-adhere the stem and leaves to the back of the bottom layer
-adhere top layer to middle layer with dimensionals
-adhere middle layer to bottom layer with dimensionals

Garden In Bloom

Garden in Bloom is a new stamp set from the latest Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. It included a large number of stamps so it's only available in Photopolymer (Clear).

The blooms have a hand-drawn appearance, so I used Black Memento ink for all the outlines to make a pretty background.

Then, I used Pink Pirouette, Soft Sky, So Saffron and Mint Macaron (new) inks for the second step solid stamps.

The sentiment, from the Best Thoughts Hostess Set, is stamped on Vellum with Staz On ink.

Use Whisper White, Basic Black, Soft Sky and Vellum card stock and White Organza ribbon.
The cute sentiment from this set inspired the layout of my design. The bee, the butterfly and the flower being friends.

Again, I used Black Memento ink for the outlines to emphasize the hand-drawn theme.

Then, I used Melon Mambo (stamped off) for the flower, Cucumber Crush for the leaves, Tempting Turquoise for the butterfly and Daffodil Delight for the bee's body and the flower centre. I used a Soft Sky for the bee's wings. Just scribble it in.

The flight trails are pierced using the Updated Essentials Piercing template.

Use Whisper White, Basic Black and Tempting Turquoise card stock and Black/White Baker's twine.
To begin I stamped the sentiment with Chocolate Chip ink on the mat first, then used Daffodil Delight ink to stamp the solid/watercolour flower image. Use Soft Suede ink for the outline image and then turn the stamp and use Delightful Dijon ink to stamp the outline image again. Stamp the flower centre with Delightful Dijon, too.

Stamp the outline image with Daffodil Delight ink on the card base to create a background.

I used Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, and Daffodil Delight card stock and linen thread.
