Markers
Ink a solid image stamp with the lightest colour of ink, then colour the stems and the tips of the petals with markers. Huff (like you're cleaning your glasses) on the stamp to moisten the ink and stamp.

Sponge Daubers
I couldn't resist layering the flowers and the grass stamps in this set.
Start applying ink to the solid image flower stamp with the lightest colour and add more colours using sponge daubers. If you get the wrong colour of ink on a part of the image, just wipe it off with a blender pen. I used two blues on the petals and two greens on the leaves. Make sure to huff on the inked image before stamping on card stock.
Ink the grass stamp with a light green pad and used a sponge dauber to randomly add a darker green ink. Then huff and stamp.
Colour the sentiment with markers to highlight a word.

Ink Techniques: Layering
Layering is an easy way to add depth and additional colours to your projects. Stamp images over images and on Designer Series Paper. Stamp a Faux Mat or a shadow. It's all just ink!
Overstamping
The Open Sea set in the Summer Mini Catalogue has five nautical themed stamps. I used all of them and a sentiment from Sense of Time.
I overlapped the images using different colours of ink. Use a sponge dauber to shade the edges and age the tags.
Four tiny dots of glue hold the twine to the card.

Faux Mat
Ink an acrylic block and stamp it on card stock. Then, stamp another image over it.
This set of cards is from an Easy Gifts Class I held last December. I copied the design almost exactly from Cathy Autrey, a Stampin' Up! demonstrator from Maine.
To make my gift box, score an 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of card stock as shown.
Cut away the shaded section, turn it over and stamp your designs.
Slash the bottom sections to the score line to make flaps for the bottom of the box.
Apply adhesive to the left tab on the stamped side (I used Sticky Strip) and adhere on the inside back of the box.
Adhere the bottom flaps together.
I added a strip of Crumb Cake card stock under my flap. I threaded the ribbon through the prongs of a brad and secured it to the flap. Wrap the ribbon around the box and tie in front.

Ink Techniques: Inked DSP
I love Sponge Daubers for Ink Techniques!
The white flowers and stems of this paper were just begging to be coloured, so I added Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango inks with sponge daubers. Then, I coloured the stems and leaves with a Certainly Celery marker.
The sentiment is heat embossed with Tangerine Tango EP.

Directional Crimped Mat
After stamping on a square of card stock, mark the middle of each side with a pencil. Score from each mark to make 4 triangle corners. Fold the triangles to the centre and feed the mat through a crimper, starting at the bottom corner point. Open out the corners and adhere to card.
I also crimped a section of the card front and adhered a crimped strip under the mat.
