Colour Refresh

I've got good news and bad news. Stampin' Up! is refreshing our colours. That means our Colour Collections will be more up to date with current fashion and home decorating trends, but some colours (possibly a few favourites) will be gone. The changes will affect papers, inks and accessories.

Use this new set of Framelits in the Spring Catalogue to make any kind of dress for paper-crafting! I found lots of inspiration from my Stampin' Up! sisters and came up with these cards.

-cut adhesive sheet the same size as the fabric
-peel release paper from adhesive and apply to card stock
-peel release paper from the other side of adhesive and adhere fabric
-cut out dress with Big Shot and framelit die

-cut card stock strip 1-3/8 wide
-stamp words
-thread strip through punch to desired length and cut

-apply adhesive to back lower edge of dress
-hold piercing tool against seam binding

-fold seam binding over the piercing tool

-move piercing tool behind fold and hold

-fold seam binding over piercing tool to form a pleat

-adhere ends of seam binding to back

Use Multi-purpose adhesive sheet to adhere Canvas Creations to card stock the same as fabric in the Fabric Dress instructions above.

-cut away middle of half doily

-apply adhesive to back bottom edge of dress
-adhere the ends of the half doily to sides of dress

-press doily onto adhesive forming folds

-adhere extra skirt to back of dress

Vellum Swallowtail

I stamped the butterfly image on vellum with White StazOn ink. The vellum mat softens the black card stock mat, giving the card a dreamy appearance.

Faux Silk Swallowtail

A mist of Shimmer Paint Spray makes this crumpled tissue paper technique glow like silk.


Shimmer Paint Spray
In a small spray bottle, combine 2 oz. 70% Rubbing Alcohol and 1/2 teaspoon Shimmer paint. (I used Frost White 116854.)

-cut a piece of double-sided Multi-purpose adhesive sheet and apply it to a card stock mat
-sponge inks on tissue paper and let dry
-crumple tissue paper and smooth out slightly

-remove release paper from adhesive sheet
-position tissue paper over mat and press it onto the adhesive

-stamp image on tissue covered mat
-apply inks to the image with sponge daubers
-mist with Shimmer Paint spray
-speed drying with a heat tool to minimize bleeding inks
-trim the mat to size
-lightly sand the edges of the mat
