Silver Snowflakes Christmas Card
Balmy Blue card stock 4 ¼ X 11
-score and crease to make the card base
-stamp the sentiment from the Embellished Ornaments set in the lower right with Dapper Denim ink
 
Silver Foil card stock 1 ¾ X 4 ¼
-Emboss the mat with the Northern Flurry folder and the Big Shot machine
-adhere a strip of silver ribbon to the back at the sides of the mat
-tie another length of silver ribbon to the strip
 
Dapper Denim card stock 1 7/8 X 4 ¼
-adhere the mat under the embossed silver mat
-adhere both mats to the card front
 
Whisper White envelope
-stamp the snowflakes image from the Christmas Punch set on the flap with Dapper Denim ink

Red Toile Christmas Card
Real Red card stock 5 ½ X 8 ½
-score and crease to make the card base
 
Whisper White card stock 3 ½ X 4 ½ and 4 X 5 ¼
-stamp image from Sleigh Bells Ring set on the small mat with Real Red ink
-use the Big Shot machine with the 3 ½ inch oval die from Layering Ovals Framelits to cut out the image
-use a sponge dauber with Real Red ink to outline the oval
-stamp the sentiment from the Christmas Lodge set with Real Red ink near the top of the large mat
-lightly trace the oval on the mat with a pencil
-use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to position the flourish image from Christmas Lodge set and stamp it on both sides of the oval with Real Red ink
-adhere the large mat to the card front
-adhere the stamped oval to the card front with foam adhesive
-use a needle threader to insert red twine through the loop on a tiny silver bell, tie 4 knots and trim the thread ends
-adhere the bell to the card front above the oval with a glue dot
-tie a bow in Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon and adhere it to the card front above the oval with a glue dot

-stamp small flourish from the Christmas Lodge set in the right corner of the flap with Real Red ink

Cherry Cobbler card stock 5 ½ X 8 ½
-score and crease to make the card base

-stamp the pine bough image with Mossy Meadow ink

 

Mossy Meadow card stock 3 ¾ X 5
-adhere to card front
 
Very Vanilla card stock 3 5/8 X 4 7/8
-stamp the sentiment from the Ornamental Pine set with Cherry Cobbler ink in the bottom right corner of the mat
-stamp the pine bough image from the Ornamental Pine set with Mossy Meadow ink in the top left of the mat leaving space for the ornament
-adhere the mat to the card front
 
Real Red card stock scrap
-swipe the scrap with an embossing buddy
-stamp the ornament image from the Ornamental Pine set with Versamark pad
-cover the image with Gold embossing powder and shake off the excess
-use the heat tool to melt the embossing powder
-use scissors to cut out the ornament and adhere it to the card front with foam adhesive
-tie a bow in gold twine and adhere it to the ornament with a glue dot
 
Very Vanilla envelope

-stamp the pine bough image with Mossy Meadow ink

Frosted Trees Christmas Card

Thick Whisper White card stock 5 ½ X 8 ½

-score and crease to make the card base 

Night of Navy card stock 3 7/8 X 5 1/8
-adhere the mat to the card base

Whisper White card stock 3 ¾ X 5
-stamp the image from the Wandering Words set with Night of Navy ink close to the top of the mat
-use the Big Shot machine to emboss the mat with the Evergreen Forest 3D folder
-use a sponge dauber to apply Frost White all-purpose ink on the embossed trees
-adhere navy blue ribbon to the sides of the back of the mat
-adhere the mat to the front of the card
-adhere the snowflake charm to the ribbon on the card front

Bright Moon Baby

Try making your own plaid paper with Stampin' Write markers like I did for the large pennant on this card.
Unfortunately, you can't buy the markers separately. They are available in colour families (sets of 10) I used 2 from the Brights collection and 1 from the Subtles collection.

I love how this card is like looking into a window at Christmas time!

I stamped the tree on Whisper White card stock and sponged a yellow glow around the tree.

Use Thick Whisper White card stock for the window frame.

The fine tip glue pen is perfect for adhering the pine boughs.

Use the Cable Knit embossing folder with the Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper Stack to make some quick cards for Christmas.

I used Thick Whisper White card stock in the embossing folder. It works best when you spritz the mat with water or 70% alcohol.

And, yes! That is a tiny jingle bell!

Chocolate Gingerbread Recipe
1 cup butter
2 cups light brown sugar
1 tsp. each cinnamon & ground ginger
1/2 tsp. each allspice & salt
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup boiling water
1/2 cup fancy molasses
4 1/2 cups flour
Cream butter and sugar. Mix in all spices, salt and baking soda. Mix in cocoa, water and molasses. Gradually stir in 3 1/2 cups flour, 1/2 cup at a time. Continue adding flour 1/4 cup at a time until dough is stiff. Roll dough onto floured board and cut with cookie cutters or roll into balls and stamp with cookie press. Bake in 300 degrees F. oven for 10-15 mins. You can keep the wrapped dough in the fridge for 2 weeks.

Floral Wishes

Floral Phrases is my favourite new stamp set from the new Annual Catty. Not only does it have lovely images and five sentiments, there is an amazing set of Thinlits to use with it or on their own.

Rose Garden Background

Among the dies included in Rose Garden thinlits is a smaller rose outline without leaves.

I cut 4 of the roses from Whisper White card stock and adhered them to the mat. Only 1 whole rose was adhered to the mat, then partial sections to fill in around it.

Applying the adhesive to the back of the die-cuts before removing them from the dies makes less mess and easier handling.

Rose Garden Work of Art

Work of Art is a versatile stamp set with a variety of images including several brushstroke stamps.

Using the die as a guide, stamp the brushstrokes in a light and dark colour of both yellow and green.

Then, use the Big Shot to cut the outline and adhere it over the colours. Simple.

Tip: apply the adhesive to the die cut while it is still in the thinlit.

Inlaid Rose Garden

The Rose Garden Thinlits can be used with different colours of card stock to create an inlaid effect. It's time consuming, but pretty.

Use the Big Shot to cut the rose with leaves die from the card front and adhere black card stock to the back of the card front.

Then cut the die from Gold Foil card stock and adhere the outline to the card front.

You can use adhesive sheets to make the outline into an easy to handle sticker or apply the adhesive to the back before removing it from the die to make less mess.

Next cut the leaves from Old Olive card stock and the rose from Rose Red card stock. Apply adhesive to the back before removing the pieces from the die and fill in the outline.
